UWR Children's Book Drive Success

HELPING HANDS THANK YOU.

United Way of Rockbridge (UWR) would like to thank all who contributed to the success of our recent Annual Campaign Kick-Off Children’s Book Drive.  Over 900 new and gently used children’s books were generously donated by the Rockbridge community.  The books collected will be used in UWR’s ongoing early childhood literacy project that provides books to community locations so children can take them home, read and keep them.

A special thanks is extended to our book drop location business partners during the book drive:  Blue Phoenix; Books & Co. & Toys Too; Cattlemen’s Market; CornerStone Bank – BV; DuPont Credit Union; Fairfield General Store; Maury River Senior Center, Rockbridge Regional Library – Lexington, Buena Vista, Glasgow, Goshen; Spencer Home Center; SpiritHorse Shenandoah Valley; Sweet Treats Bakery; The Bookery; Union Bank;  and the YMCA.

The Community Book Drive marks the beginning of the United Way of Rockbridge 2018-2019 Annual Campaign and UWR appreciates all those that participated.  By supporting United Way you fulfill our mission of Local People Meeting Local Needs.  All funds raised locally stay local and support 22 safety-net, special needs, healthy family, and literacy programs.  Watch for your donation envelope in the mail or through your workplace, or donate online at www.uwrockbridge.org.
