What a beautiful evening to celebrate and get to know new students! Families and children turned out for 'A Day In K' at Maury River Middle School (MRMS) April 28th. A Day in K is a kindergarten readiness event that feature resources for kindergarten. The fire and police departments, community organizations, and local school teachers and staff were on hand to greet the children with snacks, and fun games. Middle school students joined in on the act as well; the readers of the children's books were from Lylburn Downing Middle School and Maury River Middle School students made popcorn and distributed water. The United Way of Rockbridge had a mountain of books for the kiddos to select from. Each child went home with a bag full of goodies.
