To create work that reflects the world, we need to be ALL IN! The UWR Board members recently attended two separate but equally excellent training sessions addressing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Thank you to First Baptist Church for hosting us for each event and providing such yummy breakfasts. The first class was Implicit Bias Training led by Jim Moliterno, the Vincent Bradford Professor of Law at Washington and Lee University School of Law. Our May class was led by Lexington Chief of Police, Angela Greene, who shared changes being made in our police department, to help them better understand and address the importance of diversity, equity and inclusion in the work place and in policing. These were both great opportunities for us all to broaden our horizons, and learn more about ourselves individually and collectively. When it comes to equity and inclusion we are continuing to learn, evolve and improve.
