Blue Ridge CASA for Children: Recruits, selects, trains, and supervises volunteers to advocate for children who have been victims of abuse or neglect. During a stressful time such as this where individuals are confined, statistics have shown a significant increase in abuse. CASA anticipates a need for more funding to address recruitment and training of volunteers in the coming weeks.

Blue Ridge Legal Services - Provides free legal assistance in civil cases of critical importance to low-income residents of the Rockbridge area whose adjusted household income is less than 125% of the federal poverty guidelines. They are expecting an additional need to address evictions related to the loss of jobs in the area.

Campus Kitchen Mobile Food Pantry and Backpack Program – Provides free produce and shelf-stable food items to individuals in the more remote parts of Rockbridge County, where transportation and access are limited. Each Friday, backpacks are distributed to all children receiving meals through the three school districts.

Rockbridge Area Relief Association – Runs the Lexington Food Pantry and a satellite delivery of food. Their HelpLine is emergency relief in the form of financial assistance for Rockbridge Area families who need temporary help with rent, utilities, heating fuel, or gasoline.

Rockbridge Area Transportation System - Provides non-emergency, demand-response, door-to-door transportation service for wheelchair and ambulatory riders. Most doctor’s offices have closed so they’ve moved to Dialysis only transports, significantly reducing their income.

Rockbridge Area YMCA – Currently providing an emergency day care program for school-age children for essential personnel during the pandemic. They are otherwise closed and unable to provide all other usual activities, so their income is significantly reduced.

The Natural Bridge/Glasgow Food Pantry – Is a solely volunteer organization which provides food assistance to qualifying individuals and households in southern Rockbridge County.

Valley Program for Aging Services/Meals on Wheels – Delivers nutritious meals and provides wellness checks to our most vulnerable housebound seniors.

Yellow Brick Road Early Learning Center/Scholarship Program - Offers affordable care for children 6 weeks to preschool, with the added benefit of a sliding scale scholarship program based on family income. Like the public schools, YBR has closed. Without students, they have lost their income.
